Colin Cookes Forks Out $7 Million For Royal Domain Tower Apartment, St Kilda Road

Cookes recently sold his Toorak mansion, Heyington Place, to Solomon Lew’s daughter, Jacqueline, for about $8.6 million. Ms Lew this week sold her Kooyong Road house in a private deal said to be worth about $5 million.

Sources say Cookes bought a 65-square apartment occupying the entire 39th floor of the luxury apartment tower, Royal Domain Towers. The 42-level apartment block is unique in that it is substantially taller than most other residential projects on St Kilda Road, which are restricted to about 15 levels.

The apartment has three bedrooms, a study, a staff quarters and high ceilings.

Cookes made his fortune years ago when his family company owned and ran the Venture retail stores.
