Vacant office in Melbourne’s Canterbury sells for c$7 million

A vacant office building in Melbourne’s blue-ribbon eastern suburb of Canterbury has sold for a speculated price of about $7 million.

At 275 Canterbury Road, near the Canterbury train station and Maling Road shopping strip, the three-level building on a Commercial 2 zoned block of 1639 square metres, was marketed by Colliers International’s Peter Bremner and Ted Dwyer.

Promoted to investors and owner-occupiers, the property also includes 30 car parks.

Previously 275 Canterbury Road (pictured, top) has been occupied by a window tinting company and car repair company.

The parcel is not far from an historic Edwardian building at 143-147 Maling Road, Canterbury which sold last year for $8.45 million – a jump on the $7.4 million that vendor paid Australia Post in mid-2016.

Also last year, in another Colliers International deal, a developer paid about $9 million for a 2553 sqm site at 352-358 Canterbury Road, Surrey Hills, offered permit-ready for a mixed-use complex containing 17 townhouses, 12 apartments and five retail or commercial spaces.
