Australand Lodges Plan to Build Major Suburban Office Park on Smith and Nephew Site, Clayton

AUSTRALAND has lodged plans with council to develop an $80 million business park, on the former Smith and Nephew site in Clayton.

The permit will allow for between 35,000 and 40,000 square metres of suburban offices, near the Australian Synchrotron Facility, and Monash University.

Australand paid $15 million for the 3.5 hectare property at 211 Wellington Road in mid 2007.

An Australand representative declined to comment about whether it would develop, or onsell the site, if it obtains a permit.
