ATO Renews Lease at Major Moonee Ponds Office, Melbourne

The rent to be paid is reportedly $300 per square metre, per annum. It is not known what incentives the federal government will receive other than an upgrade of the building to a 4.5 star NABERS rating.

Charter Hall’s average lease expiry ratio for its national office portfolio is now 4.5 years, up from 4.2 years, according to the AFR which reported the Moonee Ponds lease renewal.

Charter Hall has also recently renewed leases to Telstra (23,000 square metres at the Argus Centre in the Melbourne CBD); and BHP Billiton, which will pre-commit to 12,000 square metres at an as-yet-unbuilt tower at 171 Collins Street, also in Melbourne.
