Art Competition For Fitzroyalty Only

Andrew Myer, the grandson of department store founder Sidney Myer and son of businessman and philanthropist Ken Myer, is part of the development consortium building the Roi complex, at 648A Nicholson Street.

The arts enthusiast is helping fund and co-ordinate the initiative, which targets only artists in the Fitzroy and Fitzroy North community.

The first winner will be selected from entrants (some of which are attached) on November 9, and be displayed in the building’s foyer upon completion from 2011. After a year, the artist will take back their work, paving the way for another winner’s work to be displayed (and another cash prize).

The Bird de la Coeur designed Roi development will be one of the biggest new apartment complexes in Fitzroy North, and will include two buildings, respectively of seven and four levels, containing a total of 170 apartments.
