ACT government lists commercial site in Monash

The ACT government’s Suburban Land Agency has listed a 1.05 hectare site in Monash, about 22 kilometres south-west of central Canberra.

The government is marketing the land at 178 Clive Avenue, in the Tuggeranong region, to developers within the childcare, aged care, or medical sectors.

“Monash sits in the centre of a region home to over 70,000 people. Nearly two thirds of families have children, but the population is also ageing and the number of residents over 60 years…is approaching 20 per cent,” Colliers International’s director of Land Marketing, Josh Reid said.

“We expect the local demographics will make it attractive for the full variety of uses it is zoned for and therefore attractive to a number of potential buyers”.

Colleague Matthew Winter, associate director of City and Metro Sales, added “opportunities to purchase a community facility site in established suburbs like Monash don’t come around everyday”.

“Monash is close to a range of amenities including the Tuggeranong Town Centre (pictured, top), which is a major local employment hub, and this site has good access to public transport,” Mr Winter said.

The site, also known as Block 14 Section 56 Monash, would be allowed to make way for an aged care facility containing 30 dwellings.
