Scanlan Theodore occupied the Little Collins Street building for years.

Prestige Brands paid $10.75 million for 285 Little Collins Street.

On 210 square metres at the south-east corner of Carson Place, the three-level building contains 600 sqm, with ground floor retail and offices above.

It is classified as a contributory property within the Block Precinct, one of Melbourne’s best-known historic retail areas, protected by a heritage overlay.

Prestige Brands is part of Singapore-based fragrance and cosmetics distributor, Prestige Group, operating in seven countries.

285 Little Collins Street

Schuchard and Company Limited had its registered office at 285 Little Collins St in 1898.

In the 1920s, W.C. Craigie & Co was operating a tailoring business there (continues below).

Scanlan Theodore was a long-time recent occupier.

The adjoining 287–289 Little Collins St, known as Carson House, was associated with the Carson family, whose footwear business also gave its name to Carson Place.

Teska Carson’s Stephen Speck and Michael Ludski brokered the deal.

The same agents are also offering the property for lease as a whole or from c150 sqm configurations.

The south-west edge of the site abuts 260 Collins St which sold for $121.28m in 2020 to Credit Suisse Asset Management and Vantage Property.

UBS later assumed control through its takeover of Credit Suisse.
