RAIA to Develop 17-Level Office at 41 Exhibition Street Headquarters Site, Melbourne

The Royal Australian Institute of Architects is proposing to build a 17-level office building on the site of its Exhibition Street headquarters, which could affect the million dollar views of the neighbouring prestigious 101 Collins Street building.
 
RAIA chief operating officer Ross Clark told The Age it hopes to redevelop its 4-level, 41 Exhibition Street property into a 7,000 square metre building with two levels of retail space, and about 5,000 square metres of offices over 15 levels.
 
The institute will occupy about three levels, Mr Clark said, while some of the remaining space will be sold to investors and owner occupiers as strata office suites.

Only Melbourne Asset in $40 Million Singapore Airline Portfolio, Sold Separately

THE joint venture investment consortium which paid just over $40 million for a swag of national Singapore Airline owned properties in 2007, has sold the only Melbourne asset in that portfolio, for $2.18 million.
 
Real Estate Capital Partners and Investec have offloaded two strata floors of the 416 Collins Street office building to a private investor.
 
The office is used as Singapore Airline’s Melbourne headquarters, but that tenant’s lease is due to expire next year, and there is no option to renew.
