Mount Macedon Hotel Sells For $1.74 Million

An original hotel built on the site in the late 1800s was replaced following fires in the 1930s and 40s.

However the Mount Macedon Hotel survived the 1983 Ash Wednesday fires, serving as a house of worship in the aftermath, when four local churches were destroyed.

Colliers International city agents Jeremy Gruzewski and Ted Dwyer, and Andrew Lewis from its Geelong office, auctioned the Mount Macedon pub for a receiver.
