Jonathan Munz sells racehorse, buys Toorak mansion

Jonathan Munz is using racehorse sale proceeds to buy a sprawling Toorak property.

The horse racer and breeder was this week revealed as the $13.5 million purchaser of an Orrong Road home offloaded by LA music promoter Andrew McManus.

On an acre, it includes a swimming pool, tennis court and established gardens.

A Georgian home contains six bedrooms, a study and several living and dining zones.

Mr Munz, who could not be contacted, in 2006 sold Sydney’s Gai Waterhouse an interest in racehorse Meurice for an undisclosed sum.

That buyer went on to sell it in August to a Darley conglomerate for a speculated $12m (however the colt never raced after it broke its shoulder. it was put down in January).

Mr McManus paid $6.05m for Orrong Rd in May, 2004, reportedly making it available to international guests including Deep Purple, Fleetwood Mac and Kiss.
