CBRE Appoints Bruce Baker as New Queensland Managing Director

Mr Baker has 30 years experience in the property industry and was most recently head of property and funds management for listed diversified property group Trinity. Prior to that, Mr Baker was national director, commercial and investment sales, for Colliers International.

His appointment follows the recent promotion of former Queensland Managing Director Graeme Russell to a new regional role as Executive Managing Director (NSW, Queensland and NZ), where he will guide, mentor and direct senior management.

CBRE President & CEO, Australia & New Zealand, Tom Southern said Mr Baker’s appointment would help drive the continued performance of the firm’s Queensland business while further strengthening CBRE’s senior management team.

“Under Graeme’s stewardship, we have continued to expand and strengthen our Queensland operations to capitalise on the strong growth that has occurred in the region in recent years,” Mr Southern said.

“Bruce was the stand-out candidate to take over Graeme’s role given his wealth of knowledge and experience in the property industry and depth of contacts, which will provide us with an invaluable resource both in Queensland and on a national basis.”

Mr Baker said the strength of the CBRE brand and culture had been key attractions in taking on the role.

“In what are challenging times, I’m looking forward to helping and contributing to the business, and in particular to helping individuals within the Queensland business achieve their goals over the next few years,” Mr Baker said.
