Carlton United Beverages to Sell Property Around Abbotsford Brewery
The properties could reap the beverage giant more than $50 million.
Up for grabs are 11 office and warehouse buildings, in several streets surrounding the CUB Brewery in the inner eastern suburb of Abbotsford. The properties will be sold with an initial leaseback to Foster’s until 2014, with three further options that could see them stay until 2029.
Amongst the bigger properties included in the portfolio is the CUB Brewery Visitor Centre, which has three road frontages to Nelson, Thompson and South Audley Streets, administration buildings in Bond Street, Southampton Crescent, Duke Street and a multi-level car park in Grosvenor Street.
Colliers International chief executive John Marasco, who was involved in the sale of Sydney’s Kent Street brewery has been appointed to sell the portfolio with Gross Waddell’s Joseph Carbone, who negotiated Foster’s recent relocation from an industrial facility in Altona to Laverton North.
He confirmed the portfolio will be put to the market, and said he expected superannuation companies and high net worth individuals to inspect.
