Carlton building where Julian Assange founded WikiLeaks rents for $31kpa

The Carlton terrace where Julian Assange founded WikiLeaks has been leased for $600 per week.

Assange paid weekly rent of $265 for the two-storey property where he registered the controversial website in 2006.  He vacated 177 Grattan Street (pictured) in 2009 after serving a stint as a mature age student at the University of Melbourne across the road. The landlord undertook some renovations a few years later including fitting a new kitchen and installing split level heating and cooling.

It rented in 2015 asking $570 per week then again for $590 per week last year. R Rent Property Management is the leasing agent.
