Binks Ford to Sell ETA Foods Factory in Braybrook

The 1.6-hectare rectangle site has more than 150 metres frontage to Ballarat Road, and is zoned Business 3, which would allow redevelopment into an industrial or office project. Binks bought the site about 10 years ago with a view to turning it into a dealership for Ford and Nissan.

Approval was given for showrooms in 2004, but the Nissan franchise was sold, and the site was deemed too big for Ford on its own. Kliger Wood director Nick Breheny, who is selling the property with CB Richard Ellis, said future uses after rezoning could be as a bulky goods centre, an industrial park subdivision, offices, or a combination of all three.

Binks Ford can also expect to make about $8.5 million from the sale of its prominent one-hectare Footscray dealership on the corner of Hopkins and Cowper streets, abutting the Footscray train station. It put this property on the market last month ahead of a move to a new facility in Deer Park.
