FORMER Melbourne Football Club board member, and the founder of furniture giant The Guest Group, Bill Guest, can expect to make about $3 million from the sale of a former showroom in Thomastown which goes to auction on Wednesday.
The 2973 square metre former Guests Furniture Showroom, on a 5191 square metre block, is being sold with vacant possession.
Guests’ rose to prominence from the 1970s, before selling to Freedom Furniture in 1999. Mr Guest has since gone on to develop bulky goods centres in metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
The Thomastown building, which is being marketed by Jones Lang LaSalle’s David Butera, once accommodated a Guests’ store and is expected to again become a bulky goods retailer, after being snapped up by either an investor or owner occupier.
