The sprawling Camberwell mansion once connected to the prominent Baillieu family has sold, for a price believed to be around $3.1 million.
Warranbine, the Federation single-storey mansion at 125 Wattle Valley Road was built in1892 as the family home of James Baillieu – father of Bill Baillieu – who went on to accrue wealth and power through mining, finance, pastoralism, real estate and politics at the end of the last century
Both business identities are great uncles of Victorian opposition leader Ted Baillieu.
Warranbine sits on a 2130 square metre block of land, and includes a large entertainment deck and swimming pool.
Changing Places director and selling agent Cameron Fisher declined to comment on any part of the negotiations when contacted by Secret Agent.
