Following in the footsteps of Lend Lease, Sydney based developer St Hilliers will lease about 700 square metres in a building owned, and recently redeveloped by a subsidiary company.
St Hilliers group executive chairman Tim Casey said the group’s Victorian business was benefiting from funds management activities and new contracting projects with existing clients providing a solid bank of current jobs.
“Our involvement in a number of significant projects has demonstrated the depth of skills within the group and is underpinning bids for new work across Melbourne and the region,” Mr Casey said.
St Hilliers Enhanced Property Fund No 3 purchased 460 Bourke Street for $16.85 million in August 2006, and has since undertaken a major refurbishment of the 7,030 square metre building.
The move by St Hilliers follows that of Lend Lease last year, when it committed to a bigger 3000 square metre office at its own building, The Gauge, in Docklands.
