After more than three years on the market, South Yarra's unique Saint Cloud mansion has been withdrawn from sale. The prominent semi-circle home at the end of Kensington Road sits on one of South Yarra's biggest blocks and has views over the Yarra River to the CBD.

Sources say a 2006 asking price of about $12 million was pushed to more than $15 million after the prestige property boom that caught everybody by surprise last year caused land values to surge.

However, much of that price included expensive fixtures and fittings used in the bold home, which most prospective buyers wanted demolished, sources say.

Saint Cloud is owned by Peter Clark, who co-founded management consultant Clark Hummerston Group. Mr Clark splits his time between homes in Britain, Lorne, Mount Macedon and Mornington Peninsula.
