Having recently secured themselves one of the most luxurious homes in the north eastern suburbs, Melbourne funny man Peter Hellier and wife Bridget have put their much more modest Montmorency home on the market.

The Helliers were revealed last month as the mystery buyer of a 5-acre estate in Plenty, overlooking the Plenty River Gorge. The property includes a substantial 4-bedroom architect designed home, a 108 square metre workshop, tennis court, swimming pool and landscaped garden.

Morrison Kleeman Estate Agents Eltham associate director Rocco Montanaro sold Hellier the Plenty property, and has been appointed to sell his outgoing Montmorency one.

He says the 3-bedroom plus study home in Elmo Road, near the Eltham border, could fetch more than $500,000 when it goes to auction in mid-August. The home includes a state of the art cinema/rumpus room with built in cabinetry for an extensive DVD or CD collection, a double garage, barbecue area and landscaped front and rear gardens.

Hellier first appeared on the small screen in 1999, as a segment host on Rove Live. More recently, he has been the face of Leggo’s stir through pasta sauce and Fernwood Gym, and is a regular on sports show Before The Game.
