Comedian Peter Helliar has sold his Montmorency property two weeks before a scheduled auction.

The 3-bedroom plus study home, sits on a sizeable block of land on the outskirts of Montmorency, near the Eltham border in Melbourne’s north-east.

Morrison Kleeman associate director and selling agent Rocco Montanaro said three interested parties made an offer for Helliar’s property prior to auction. It eventually sold for more than $530,000.

Helliar, one of the stars of Rove Live , recently upgraded to a sprawling luxury mansion on 5 acres of land overlooking the Plenty River Gorge in Plenty. The property includes a substantial 4-bedroom architect designed home, a 108 square metre workshop, tennis court, swimming pool and landscaped garden.

According to Mr Montanaro, it is the second time Helliar has negotiated real estate transactions while traveling overseas for work.

“When we sold him the Plenty property he was in New Zealand performing,” said Mr Montanaro. “When the final offer came through for his Montmorency home, he was in Los Angeles filming.”

Mr Helliar was unavailable for comment when contacted by Secret Agent.
