The parents of pop princesses Kylie and Dannii Minogue have extended the expression of interest deadline for offers on their luxury weekend retreat at French Island, about two hours south-east of the CBD.

Tenders for the 90 hectare estate, Beauciel, were supposed to be received by Friday March 28 – however this date has now been pushed forward to April 28.

Hocking Stuart selling agent Hendrik Boer says interstate demand for the property has been strong but some prospective buyers need more time to fly to Victoria and inspect.

French Island is about the same size as nearby Phillip Island, but can only be accessed by boat.

Much of the island is made up of the French Island National Park, and the island’s northern coastline – facing Tooradin - is the French Island Marine National Park, famous for its saltmarsh and mangrove communities.

Ron and Carol Minogue have in the last ten years planted 1000 trees in and around the property, including 160 lemon scented gums lining the long driveway to the luxury homestead.

They also devote a substantial part of the estate to protecting native wildlife including koalas and birds.

The French Island retreat was once mooted as the venue Kylie Minogue would marry French beau Olivier Martinez.

Located on Mount Wellington Road, Beauciel is expected to sell for between $1.8 million and $2 million.
