Richard and Alison Bouris, the former owners of JB Hi-FI, are selling their landmark Brighton mansion at 86 The Esplanade.
The near-new beachfront house was designed by architect Gabor Hubay. It includes four bedrooms, each with ensuite. The house has a gym, movie theatre/band room, games room with billiard table, wine cellar and 12-car garage. The big living areas overlook landscaped gardens, a swimming pool and the bay.
It is marketed by Kay & Burton's new Brighton office. Agent Stewart Lopez says the home is at the best position on The Esplanade, having views over the sea to the city.
"Because the house sits on such a large parcel of land, (it) is of immense proportions," Mr Lopez said.
The property will whet the appetites of investors who missed out on Becton founder Max Beck's Kinane mansion and St Kilda football club president Rod Butterss' gothic mansion at 39 Seacombe Grove.
Both sold for $11.2 million last year.
Richard Bouris is building a home on a block of land that Mr Lopez sold him for close to $5 million in Shandford Avenue, Brighton late last year.
No. 86 The Esplanade is expected to sell for about $10 million when it hits the market next month.
