Prestige builder Glenneagles Homes picked up the highest accolade at an industry award night, acknowledging Victorian designers, builders and building companies.
The Malvern-based builder won two Housing Industry Association awards including Victorian Home of the Year, and Townhouse-Villa Development of the Year, for a 4-unit townhouse project it built on a sloping block at Lawnhill Road Malvern, abutting Sir Robert Menzies Reserve.
The HIA-CSR awards recognise excellence in design, construction and installation of housing.
SC Land won the Victorian Apartment of the Year award for its bold Hue project, in Lord Street Richmond. The 28-unit high end project is identified by a prominent cedar clad facade, metal portholes and use of green astro turf and white spherical concrete planters. Hue is SC Land’s first project in Melbourne.
The design company is headed by Canadian-born, Harvard-trained and now Melbourne-based architect Lance Chu and his wife and co-director Chenghan Tan.
Mildura-based builder Lockstar Homes won the Victorian Project Home of the Year award, while Glenvill won the Display Home of the Year award for its Glen Vista Mark II.
The winners of seven main Victorian awards will compete with interstate winners, at the HIA-CSR Australian Housing Awards to be held last year.
