After failing to inspire interest as a private sale over recent months, Phoenix Fairhaven, the 3-bedroom art deco home occupied by trucking magnate Lindsay Fox before he moved to Toorak in the 1970s, will be put to auction on March 1st.
The “entertainers” home at 1 Redcourt Avenue includes a large ballroom, a cigar room, a massive outdoor terrace, established gardens and a 13-metre swimming pool – which Fox added during his time as owner. Abercromby’s agent Jock Langley is quoting more than $3 million for the home – a touch more than the $2.95 million Jellis Craig was asking for it last year, when it was a private sale.
