More than 90 per cent of the first stage of developer FKP’s Shearwater development on Phillip Island has been tagged for sale, less than a week after its official launch.
FKP executive general manager Victoria Jason Smith said the high number of registrations reflected the community’s strong support for environmentally sustainable residential developments.
“The feedback we are receiving indicates that more and more people are looking for ways to reduce their environmental impact without having to compromise on quality or style,” said Mr Smith.
Mr Smith said the wetlands attract native birdlife and enhance the natural ecosystem by diverting the stormwater through a series of channels, which cleanse and filter the water before it reaches Westernport Bay.
The 30 hectare, 252-lot residential subdivision is built around five hectares of man-made wetlands and village-style parklands on Settlement Road, Cowes. Site works will start at the development in October.
