Grammy award nominated Melbourne-based DJ Dirty South has used profits from a recent record deal with the US-based Warner Group, to buy himself a luxury apartment in Port Melbourne.
Dirty, who goes by the name of Dragon Roganovic when off stage, and partner Dina Chung, are believed to have paid about $1.5 million for a 3-bedroom apartment in the Bianca project, under construction at 106 Bay Street.
Dirty’s remix of the Evergreen rock hit “It’s too late” earned him global attention, and scored him an appearance on the Ministry of Sound dance compilation series.
He was nominated for a Best Remixed Recording award at the 2008 Grammy awards for his remix of the Kaskade hit Sorry. His competition included popular DJs Erik Prydz and Benny Benassi – who he lost the award to.
The Bianca apartment project has made quite the splash since launching two weeks ago, defying any speculation interest rate rises have affected the luxury apartment buyer. One bedroom apartments in the complex have sold for $695,00 with the average apartment costing $1 million.
