Colliers International has opened an office in Albania, saying the country's push to a free market economy is resulting in a property development boom.
Bordered by Greece, Montenegro, Serbia and Macedonia, Albania with its population of 3.6 million is being marketed as a new Mediterranean holiday and investment destination. Last month, it was invited by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation to become a member of the European Union.
Colliers' first major project will be the first international-standard shopping mall in the nation's capital of Tirana.
