Clariant to Sell Former Chadstone Headquarters

Chemical services company Clariant is close to selling its disused office and warehouse facility in Chadstone, abutting an existing bulky goods centre.

A spokesman for Clariant confirmed its former Chadstone headquarters at 675 Warrigal Road, next to the Matthew Flinders Hotel, is surplus to the company's needs, now that it has moved into flash new offices in Glen Waverley.

Earlier this year, Clariant applied for a permit to develop its outgoing site into a $20 million bulky goods centre, which would add at least one neighbour to existing large retailers Harvey Norman and Officeworks. It would also include two levels of basement car parking.

It's believed the sale of the Warrigal Road property, to an as yet undisclosed developer, is dependent on the Monash City Council rezoning the land from Light Industrial use. The Clariant site is near the Middle Road entrance of the Chadstone Shopping Centre. It is near the Holmesglen train station and Institute of TAFE.

Clariant downsized to a newer 600 square metre office at the Brandon Office Park earlier this year.
