Agents have confirmed Cathy Freeman is the mystery buyer of a Roslyn Street Brighton mansion. The Olympic Gold medalist is said to have paid $2.2 million before auction, and will move in later this year.

All eyes turn now to the home Cathy has called home for seven years in Kew. Agents say the unique cliff-top home in the Studley Park pocket was picked up for $900,000 at around the time she won gold at the Sydney Olympics in 2000.

The runner won’t need to dip into her pocket moving from tree-view to sea-view, with agents anticipating a price of around $1.4 million for the renovated home.
