Fashion queen Bettina Liano has been spotted moving into a luxury home in South Yarra.
The designer and entrepreneur earlier this year snapped up a home in a "no-through-road" elevated and private boulevard for a speculated $5 million.
Sources say Ms Liano, whose designer sister Teresa is in the news after her split with long-time business partner TL Wood, will spend up to another $2 million extending and renovating the home, to take advantage of its views over Como Park and to Herring Island and the Yarra River.
About the time Ms Liano bought the Kensington Road property, she sold two other houses - her family home in Malvern Road, Armadale, for about $2.5 million, and an investment property in Nicholson Street, South Yarra, which fetched about $850,000. Hocking Stuart sold both properties.
The designer told The Sunday Age her decision to leave Armadale was to be closer to her flagship South Yarra boutique.
Ms Liano launched her famous clothing label almost 20 years ago in Chapel Street and now has eight boutiques in Australia. Her collections are shown twice yearly at the Mercedes Australian Fashion Weeks in Sydney and Melbourne.
Among the celebrities to wear Bettina Liano garments are Elle Macpherson, Helena Christensen and Elizabeth Hurley.
