Queensland has won three awards at the 2008 Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) National Awards for Excellence, held in Melbourne last night.

Red Hill's Sissons Estate Agents was named Australia's Best Small Residential Agency, Colliers International Brisbane won the Best Commercial Agency award and Johann de Beer also of Colliers International Brisbane was named the Commercial Property Manager of the Year.

Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ) managing director Dan Molloy said the outstanding result was testament to the winners' high standards of business practice.

"Winning three REIA National Awards for Excellence awards is a further indication of the professionalism of accredited agencies in the Queensland real estate industry," Mr Molloy said.

"And having two commercial winners also highlights the strength of this important part of the industry.

"All the winners and finalists in the national awards are real estate practitioners who lead the way and set the standard for all members of the industry and I congratulate every one of them."

The REIA National Awards for Excellence aim to encourage, recognise and promote excellence and best practice in the real estate profession.

The select group of top performing real estate professionals have all previously been honoured as award winners at State level by their State or Territory Real Estate Institute.
