Private Consortium Buys Mirvac's Hope Island Resort on the Gold Coast for $53m

A private consortium associated with the developers of Casuarina Beach in northern NSW has settled its $53 million purchase of part of Hope Island Resort on the Gold Coast from Mirvac Group.

The deal sees the new owners secure two of the last remaining development sites within the resort, together with the Hope Island Resort golf course and golf club, the resort marina and Boardwalk Tavern.

The private consortium, L2 Capital, is headed by long time Gold Coast businessman and Hope Island Resort Golf Club member John Thomas, with the deal to be funded privately by Casuarina Beach developers Don O’Rorke, Mike Dodd and Lachlan Grantley.
