Rouse Hill Town Centre combines the traditional values and streetscape of a contemporary market town with the latest in shopping, dining and lifestyle choices.

Rouse Hill Town Centre, a vibrant and unique community and retail destination for north west Sydney, will be officially launched from its Town Square by The GPT Group CEO Nic Lyons and, the Hon. Frank Sartor, NSW Minister for Planning, at 10am on Thursday 6 March.

The GPT Group (GPT) has spent $470 million creating Rouse Hill Town Centre, a 65,000 sqm development featuring retail space alongside a variety of unique community features and open-air environments owned and managed by the Group.

GPT CEO Nic Lyons said Rouse Hill Town Centre set a new benchmark for GPT’s Retail Portfolio in urban design and community connection, which builds on a range of innovative projects recently completed around Australia.

“The design of Rouse Hill Town Centre blends the best of main street and shopping centre models, which together with community facilities and native Australian landscaping that are reflective of their surroundings and heritage, deliver a true town centre to the burgeoning north west Sydney region,” said Lyons.

Ecological responsibility is a core focus for GPT and its Rouse Hill Town Centre has been designed to ‘world’s best practice’ sustainable development. The overall impact that Rouse Hill Town Centre will have on the planet is expected to be 25 per cent less than a standard regional shopping centre.

It is estimated to use 60% less water and 40% less energy than a standard regional shopping centre with features such as a 150,000 litre rainwater tank, cooling tower water recycling, open streets with 100% natural ventilation, energy efficient lighting, passive solar design to use the sun to warm and light buildings, and trees to provide shade.

Throughout Rouse Hill Town Centre operable awnings, windows and screens shade against the sun and shut out the elements or let it shine through and provide fresh air.
The first stage of Rouse Hill Town Centre opened in September 2007, delivering more than 80 retailers with a focus on convenience and fresh produce to the local area as well as an interactive playground for children and meeting places for the community.

Coles, Woolworths and 80 specialties were delivered ahead of schedule in a stage one opening at Rouse Hill Town Centre 25 September 2007.

March 6 unveils the core of Rouse Hill Town Centre with its Town Square, Main Street shopping and restaurant precinct and an additional 110 retailers, including Big W, Target and Borders.

Adding to the lifestyle and entertainment choices at Rouse Hill Town Centre, Reading Cinemas will open in April.

“The $470 million investment for GPT has been delivered on time, on budget and fully leased,” said Lyons.

The official opening of Rouse Hill Town Centre will be marked with a four day community entertainment program as well as the launch of Baulkham Hills Shire Council’s Vinegar Hill Library and Community Centre, which forms part of The New Rouse Hill.
