Two industry bodies are in town for the local launch of a unique internet marketing initiative that provides real-time information on properties for sale, boosting the capabilities of real estate agencies, particularly those in regional areas where distances can be an issue for buyers and sellers.

A joint initiative of the Real Estate Institute of New South Wales (REINSW) and the Estate Agents Cooperative (EAC), realestateworld.com.au benefits both agents and their clients by combining detailed property data and property listings on the one site.

Agents can use realestateworld.com.au to call up exchanged property prices as well as final sales data for the information of buyers and sellers. This enables a realistic market appraisal of the sales price likely to be achieved and enhances the ability of agents to help their clients.

For buyers, agents will be able to create neighbourhood profiles setting out recent sales, photographs, detailed maps, the location of schools, shops and other local services, and various property statistics.

“This launch is about what happens when two peak bodies get together with a common view to provide services that are relevant, cost-effective and, most importantly, owned by the industry for the benefit of the industry and the clients it represents," said REINSW president Cristine Castle, one of the industry executives participating in the roadshow, which visits regional centres across NSW over the next few weeks. “This new portal gives our members access to the best property research available, at the click of a key.”

Mrs Castle said that while regional areas were once hostage to the tyranny of distance, the internet has changed this and realestateworld.com.au is a further advance. “Now, agents will be able to show people interested in buying into a regional community what is available, whether they are after an investment property, are first home buyers or are simply looking for a weekend retreat.”
