A 1970s double fronted, double-storey brick veneer is expected to smash the record as the most expensive pile of real estate in Williamstown.
The property, believed to be the largest residential land holding in the suburb, has a wide 18 metre frontage to The Strand, one of the most expensive streets west of the Yarra River. The property is more than 100 metres deep.
Compton and Green Real Estate sales agent Glen Baird says he expects the property to fetch more than $5 million when it goes to auction at 2pm on May 12.
The property is expected to arouse interest from wealthy private individuals who may build one family home (and two tennis courts), or middleweight developers who may subdivide the property and build two or more homes. The land is not protected by a heritage overlay.
